The Aegir Divers Mural: Celebrating Our Dromana HQ and the Spirit of Commercial Diving
When we founded Aegir Divers, we envisioned having a space that not only supported our growth as a commercial diving business, but also captured the essence of our unique identity. Four years ago, we found the perfect location in the heart of the Dromana Industrial Estate, a growing hub that’s home to local producers, boutique breweries, distilleries, and artisan coffee roasters.
The factory space itself was ideal—spacious and full of potential. However, it was also in need of some serious TLC. It was dirty and lacked the character that would truly represent Aegir Divers and our commitment to quality and innovation in the commercial diving industry. That’s when we decided to transform the space and create something truly unique.
We turned to the incredibly talented Trent from TD Illustrations to bring our vision to life. After a brief discussion about our values and heritage, Trent set to work and produced a mural that has since become the heart of our Dromana headquarters. The brief was straightforward: include elements that reflect our expertise in commercial diving, our Norse heritage, and the stunning local landscape of Dromana. The result far exceeded our expectations.
A Fusion of Heritage and Industry
The mural features a captivating mix of imagery that represents the very soul of Aegir Divers. It includes a traditional diver with a Royal Australian Navy, Clearance Diver rate badge on his right shoulder, a Viking ship ( both symbolising our founder Bert’s Navy training and Norwegian roots), and the iconic Arthur’s Seat in the background. The scene is brought to life with an octopus, a nod to the depths of the ocean we explore, which wraps its tentacles around our Aegir Divers logo—and a treasure chest, symbolising the rewards and challenges of our commercial diving work.
The entire mural is done in greyscale with subtle hints of blue, creating a modern yet timeless feel that complements our brand’s identity. With ‘Ægir Divers’ prominently featured in the center, the mural has become a powerful representation of our values: heritage, strength, adventure, and the vital work we do in the commercial diving industry.
