At Aegir Divers, we understand the risks involved in engaging commercial divers. Our services operate in accordance with Australian Standard for Occupational Diving AS2299.1:2015, Victorian WorkSafe requirements and Occupational Health and Safety Regulations. Together with Aegir Divers internal operational guidelines and manuals, we ensure all commercial diving operations are undertaken safely & in compliance with regulations.
Driving Safety Management System (DSMS)
Aegir Divers conducts all operations in accordance with local and government Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) requirements. Our Diving Safety Management System (DSMS) gives detailed step-by-step guidance for each task, adhering to all safety concerns for both Divers and support staff.
ALL AEGIR DIVERS ARE ACCREDITED WITH THE AUSTRALIAN DIVER ACCREDITATION SCHEME (ADAS) TO ENSURE THEIR COMPLIANCE TO INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNISED COMMERCIAL DIVING QUALIFICATIONS AND STANDARDS.

Aegir Divers, based on the picturesque Mornington Peninsula, is an Australian business that specialises in providing Commercial Diving services. Our operations extend across key maritime hubs, encompassing the Port of Hastings, Port of Melbourne and Port of Geelong, while also spanning multiple regional areas within Victoria. Additionally, we proudly offer our services interstate.
Having served as a clearance diver in the Royal Australian Navy, Brent 'Bert' Cross, the Director of Aegir Divers, contributes over 25 years of diving skill, proficiency, and experience, complemented by an impeccable track record in seamanship and vessel handling.
Aegir Divers' dive teams consist of commercially certified Australian Standard-compliant divers, who collectively bring a wealth of expertise from diverse backgrounds from military to mechanical and construction. By pooling their extensive experience, our accomplished divers and skilled vessel operators deliver exceptional expertise and inventive solutions for every commercial diving and marine service project.

Commercial Diving
Our primary capability at Aegir Divers is Commercial Diving. This service encompasses any underwater works, whether it be in the deep ocean, coastal, bays, harbours, marinas or even inland waterways.
Our diving company has successfully completed small to large-scale projects on bridges, jetties, wharves, reservoirs, slipways and boat ramps. With the attitude and experience of Aegir Divers, we can deliver condition assessments of submerged assets constructed of concrete, steel or timber and maintain or repair these structures back to a safe and serviceable condition.

Equipped with powerful underwater hydraulic tools and thermal steel-cutting equipment all supported by our commercial vessel featuring an onboard crane and winch, we ensure seamless commercial diving operations.
Project Reports

Salvage
Aegir Divers has successfully undertaken a diverse range of salvage missions, encompassing everything from vehicles, private yachts, and commercial fishing trawlers, to substantial 300-tonne Tug Boats and even a colossal 2000-tonne submarine.

Aegir Divers collaborates with ROV company BASS STRAIT SUBSEA to bolster both efficiency, capability and safety. Initial ROV inspections significantly enhance the planning of diving operations, leading to cost reductions and facilitating the timely completion of tasks.

Aegir Divers performs annual inspection assessments, installations, and maintenance of anchored navigation systems, offering expertise and guidance on different tackle designs. We also possess the capability to perform maintenance on lateral markers, above and below water.

Leveraging our long history of mooring tackle knowledge, we offer a range of solutions including inspection, maintenance, repair, installation, and the cleaning of marine growth using high-pressure seawater blasters.

Preservative Materials & Wharf Carpentry
As approved applicators of DENSO Corrosion Prevention products, Aegir Divers have the experience and knowledge to recognise defects and advise on effective remediation options, enabling the continued structural integrity and serviceability of many marine assets.
Aegir Divers has extensive expertise across diverse realms of marine construction. Our involvement spans the demolition, construction, and remediation of a wide spectrum of structures, including wharves, piers, jetties, marinas, seawalls and beach groynes across various locations in New South Wales, Victoria, South Australia and Tasmania. Equipped with a versatile suite of hydraulic tools, we employ robust construction techniques both underwater and in wet environments. Complemented by an assortment of lifting blocks, hand winches, and the capacity to create & fabricate custom jigs or brackets for versatile adaptation, we offer a distinctive marine perspective that can be seamlessly applied to a variety of projects.
Aegir Divers also works closely with steel fabricators and trade-qualified carpenters which enhances our ability to customise specific components to cope with the extreme forces that the marine environment produces.
For each project, Aegir Divers takes care to consider all variants of chosen materials and their application. Improving design, and layout or making simple modifications can enhance installation techniques or future maintenance procedures.
Kelp Farming Services
Aegir Divers are proud to support a leader in the kelp farming industry Southern Seagreens, a regenerative seaweed farming business. Aegir Divers are the landlord and marine services partner to Southern Seagreens, who host and maintain the kelp farming operations including its hatchery, drying facility and packing room, as well as providing farm engineering, out-planting, harvesting and transport services.
Our existence is deeply intertwined with the natural environment, and neglecting its care is a recognition that both our lives and industries could undergo irreversible changes, possibly in the near future. It's this awareness that drives Aegir Divers to leverage our capabilities in collaboration with Southern Seagreens, propelling the kelp aquaculture sector forward. This collective effort positions us as a robust catalyst for restoring our depleted local bays and coastlines, reinforcing our commitment to ecological rehabilitation.

Commerical Vessel
Torden provides a multi use platform allowing difficult tasks to be performed safely and simply. The large open work areas, dry storage, lifting hardware, auxiliary generators and battery banks offer versatility of operation.
The onboard capstan enables heavy loads to be recovered from great depths or simple minor adjustments of suspended loads. The onboard crane allows heavy loads to be launched or recovered inboard safely and effortlessly.

An extremely slim draft of 0.3m allows access to very shallow areas whilst also a low height of 2.4m for overhead access.
Maximum speed of 32 knots (60 km/h) when fully loaded.
A specially designed hull for maximum stability.
Powered by Twin Mercury ‘SeaPro’ 150 HP engines featuring an oversized gearbox and propellers to enable greater torque and thrust for pushing or towing.
The bow ‘push knees’ enable Torden to easily command and control whilst pushing barges or other vessels and assist when docking or lifting loads from wharves or piers.

Torden’s console houses a GPS system, 12 Volt charging ports, VHF and UHF radio and desk area to allow users a sheltered area to conduct data collection or planning.
Vessels & Vehicles
Anvil offers an exceptionally stable platform with a spacious deck area, enabling access under overhead structures. Its front "moon-pool" and hinged foredeck enable the capturing of piles, allowing for comprehensive 360° access. This unique feature facilitates tasks such as inspection, welding, and applying preservative materials. The low profile of Anvil also significantly simplifies surface-level work.
UNIMOG
Our Mercedes Benz Unimog is a beast. It reigns as the ultimate 4x4 truck, revered as the favoured choice of the Australian Military. Now equipped with a 9000kg winch with remote control operation, we introduce yet another dimension to our salvage capabilities.
Dive Trailer
Operating in exposed environmental conditions, we tackle inherently demanding tasks. With a tailor-made enclosed trailer designed to accommodate a 100m surface supply diving system, we ensure that every tool and piece of gear is readily accessible on-site. This setup offers the added advantage of providing shelter to our support crew during inclement weather. Moreover, our clients on-site can remain comfortable, dry and warm, with the option of enjoying a hot beverage as they oversee projects via the diver-mounted video system.
